We are very proud to announce the very first mix in our series of Addicted podcasts from a very talented guy. Less than two weeks prior to his appearance at Addicted event in Kiev, Paris-based Marcelus shared a beautiful and thoughtful piece of techno with all of us. Please spread the word and expect some more quality stuff in the series really soon.

-It’s been less than one year since you released your very first record. Please introduce yourself and try to describe how your career has evolved during all that time.

- Hi, my name is Cédric Bros, people knows me as Marcelus, dj & producer from Paris. Yes it’s been almost a year, I released another record and a remix since, and I mixed in Paris and also abroad. Things take time and I just hope it’s the beginning of something for me, I’m discovering and learning a lot and I think it’s exciting to get more involved in the techno scene because it’s my passion for 15 years now.

-Do you consider yourself a resident artist of Deeply Rooted House label? Would it be right to call DJ Deep your mentor? How long have you been following what he was doing before you signed the record for DRH?

- Well, we would like to do something together on the long term and I will write music for DRH again, I feel like at home in a way, I don’t know what to say about considering myself being a DRH resident, perhaps I do. You know I don’t really think about it and I’m also free to release my music on other labels. DJ Deep is the person who gave me a chance to express myself through his label, of course I’ve been following him for a while.

-What else, apart from the track signed for Ann Aimee, should we expect from you soon? Which artists you take your inspiration from nowadays and who of them you would probably enjoy collaborating with?

- I remixed a track by Markus Suckut coming out on REPITCH soon, I’m also working on a new remix at the moment and also new Marcelus record. The mix I did for you answers your question about my inspiration, it’s a nice overview of it. As for collaborating, I really don’t know, this is a tough one. I think writing music is really personal and I love to do it by myself, so I never really think about it. Вut obviously I would learn a lot from all of them for sure.

-Tell us about the concept behind the mix you made for us. As we may see, it is not really similar in terms of the idea to your other mixes that may be found online, which is cool, though.

- The concept is always to play what I think is good music, for this mix I tried to show a bit more. It is maybe more like a mix-CD good for home or the car. I also put some tracks which are really important to me. The mix is certainly different from the other ones I did but it’s nice, techno allows us to do that.
